Color Guard

Edmund Ruffin Fire Eaters Color Guard

The Edmund Ruffin Fire Eaters Color Guard is comprised of individuals who are descendants of Confederate Veterans.

Our Color Guard honors Confederate Veterans and officials by presenting the Confederate colors at headstone, Iron Cross, monument dedications and parades. We support the ceremonies of the Sons of Confederate Veterans as well as other southern heritage organizations.

Members who participate in the Edmund Ruffin Fire Eaters Camp Color Guard wear Confederate enlisted uniforms of the various branches of the military.

Members who wish to participate in an event contact the Color Sergeant at least 48 hours prior to the event to ensure that the correct number of flags and equipment will be available.

If you desire this Color Guard at your event, please provide at least 10 days notice to notify members and to determine if we can provide a minimum number of color bearers to commit to your event. Please check the camp events page for upcoming events. Please provide date, time and address with additional information on the nature of the event.

Our policy is to stand at attention for pledges and salutes and to present arms for the national anthem, state and patriotic songs and presentation of wreaths and flowers.

We are a confederate Color Guard and do not carry the U.S. flag. When requested we will pre-post the U.S. flag in the correct location.
